This information was announced by BioGasEnergoStroy. This company signed the contract about co financing of several biogas power stations in different Russian regions with the Russian bank GasPromBank. The capacities of new biogas stations will be from 1,2 MW to 10 MW.
The first biogas plant construction is started at the early 2011. First biogas plants will start production at the end of 2011 – beginning of 2012. The payback period is 4 years.
Biogas plants are sources of independent electricity. Moreover biogas is ecologically friendly and clean energy.
Russian agricultural companies pay about 500 Rubles (13 Euros) per ton for the manure utilization. The average agricultural farm in Russia produces about 300-500 tons of manure per day. If you use manure for the biogas production you don’t need to pay this utilization fee. Thus the biogas plant produces not only free electricity for the farm but also save money which are paid for utilization at the moment.
The problems of using biogas plants in Russia were linked with the impossibility to sell surplus electricity to the common net. However the Russian Parliament promises to solve this problem at the beginning of 2011. The new laws should be issued.
According to the BioGasEnergoStroy their project is approved by Russian government. It means that biogas plants are important not only for independent farms, but also for the State.
According to the Bioenergy International.Russia and INFOBIO, there are about 80 biogas utilities in Russia for the moment. Most of them are homemade and handicraft. At the same time there are some Western biogas plants, but the number of these plants could be counted by fingers of one hand. Western biogas equipment companies are not active in Russia at all. It seems that they are afraid of Russia. However, there could that their equipment can’t work during cold Russian winters and they scare to offer it here…
