The new PIX Forest Biomass Finland index value is based on prices of April 2015 trade of forest residues and wood based industry by-product bioenergy components in Finland, excluding pellets and liquid bio-fuels. The new government has released their programme over the next 4 years. One major policy statement concerning energy production is to give up the use of coal in energy production by the year 2030. This is planned to be done through changes in the taxation. To reach this goal, it would require rapid changes in many facilities, especially in CHP production, either by transforming them to using wood and other bioenergy, or by replacing them with new plants.
