The fair “Technodrev Far East 2011” took place in Khabarovsk in 21-24 of April. The Plant “Eco-Technology” - which represents briquette presses RUF in Russia - took part in this event. The head of the company Dmitry Bastrikov gave an interview for the INFOBIO.

“In spite of huge woodworking industry in Far East, wood waste problems and biofuel production are not interesting for the business in the region so far. Perhaps, it is explained by big share of lumber export as well as fire wood export. Wood waste is exported to China also.
However we shouldn’t forget about wood potential of Far East in Russia. We should think how to utilize this wood as sustainable as possible. We should save the Russian forest for our children.
At the same time China business is very active in Far East at the moment. Chinese people work in all woodworking and logging operations in Russian Far East. There are a lot of Chinese machinery and equipment there and it is very chip. The machinery quality could be different: it could be both good and bad, but price is always below European prices for the same kind of equipment.
Thus it seems that Chinese people take everything from Russian forest from Far East: good logs as well as wood waste…”
