The company aims to produce 2nd generation biofuels from wood chips.

Workers have been laid off and the plant closed while it looks for more funding. The CEO cited the recession, technical problems and “public apathy" toward biofuels as the causes. The US EPA had expected Range Fuels to contribute 380 000 liters of ethanol and 11 million liters of methanol towards this year’s national liquid biofuels targets.
